daily reading 37.3 (Ephesians 5:21–24)
5-days-a-week through Romans and the letters Paul wrote from Rome in 2024
Our opening prayer for this week:
Glory alone to the God of all grace.
Glory alone to Jesus.
"Let there be light," God said, "and there was light."
Yes, God made all light through Jesus.
So saints of old rejoiced as they sang,
"O sleeper, wake up! From the dead arise
For then the Messiah will shine out on you!"
Shine in my heart, Lord Jesus.
Glory alone to the God of all grace.
Glory alone to Jesus.
He died for us in dread darkness and shame,
Then he came alive. God raised Jesus!
So saints of old rejoiced as they sang,
"O sleeper, wake up! From the dead arise
For then the Messiah will shine out on you!"
Shine in my heart, Lord Jesus. Amen.
Ephesians 5:21–24
- ... submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.
- 22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord, 23 because the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of the body.
- 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives are to submit to their husbands in everything.
