daily reading 20.3 (Romans 11:22–24)

5-days-a-week through Romans and the letters Paul wrote from Rome in 2024

Our opening prayer for today:

Be now our Joy on earth, O Lord,
And be our future great Reward.
        Alleluia! Alleluia!
Then, throned with you forever, we
        Shall praise your name eternally.
        Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

        O risen Christ, ascended Lord,
All praise to you let earth accord.
        Alleluia! Alleluia!
You are, while endless ages run,
With Father and with Spirit One.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Amen.

Romans 11:22–24

  • Therefore, consider God's kindness and severity: severity toward those who have fallen but God's kindness toward you— if you remain in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.
  • 23 And even they, if they do not remain in unbelief, will be grafted in, because God has the power to graft them in again.
  • 24 For if you were cut off from your native wild olive tree and against nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these—  the natural branches—  be grafted into their own olive tree?
Romans 11:22–24

For yourself pray:

  • That you believe all that God is telling you by his Spirit in his Word

For others pray:

  • That God brings Jewish people in your area to faith in his Son

A psalm to listen to and ponder, as time allows:

  • Psalm 74 (YouTube, duet, "Arise, O God, again")
