daily reading 45.4 (Philemon 4–7)

5-days-a-week through Romans and the letters Paul wrote from Rome in 2024

Our opening prayer for this week:

    Lord, keep us steadfast in your Word;
    Curb those who by deceit or sword
    Would seek to overthrow your Son
    And to destroy all he has done.

    Lord Jesus Christ, your power make known,
    For you are Lord of lords alone;
    Defend your Christendom that we
    May sing your praise eternally.

    O Comforter of priceless worth,
    Send peace and unity on earth.
    Support us in our final strife,
    And lead us out of death to life. Amen.

Philemon 4–7

  • I always thank my God when I mention you in my prayers, 5 because I hear of your love for all the saints and the faith that you have in the Lord Jesus.
  • 6 I pray that your participation in the faith may become effective through knowing every good thing that is in us for the glory of Christ.
  • 7 For I have great joy and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.
