daily reading 30.5 (Ephesians 1:15–17)
5-days-a-week through Romans and the letters Paul wrote from Rome in 2024
Our opening prayer for this week:
In Christ is all I need,
The Shepherd of my soul,
Whose word of life is life indeed,
Who makes the wounded whole.
In him secure I stand,
His promises I claim,
For none can pluck me from his hand
Who knows his sheep by name.
In Christ is all my gain,
For he has borne my loss;
My grievous guilt, my sin and stain,
I lay beneath his cross.
In him new life begins,
I share his Name and sign;
For I am his, who bore my sins,
And he himself is mine.
In Christ is all my peace,
His presence calms my fears;
So may my hope and love increase
Amid the passing years.
In him the light has shone
That lightens all my way,
To guide my steps before his throne
To everlasting day. Amen.
Ephesians 1:15–17
- This is why, since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 I never stop giving thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers.
- 17 I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.
