daily reading 23.2 (Romans 13:3–4)

5-days-a-week through Romans and the letters Paul wrote from Rome in 2024

Our opening prayer for this week:

Precious Lord, take my hand, Lead me on, let me stand,
    I am tired, I am weak, I am worn;
Through the storm, through the night, Lead me on to the light:
Take my hand, precious Lord, Lead me home.

When my way grows drear, Precious Lord, linger near,
When my life is almost gone,
Hear my cry, hear my call, Hold my hand lest I fall:
Take my hand, precious Lord, Lead me home.

When the darkness appears And the night draws near,
And the day is past and gone,
At the river I stand, Guide my feet, hold my hand:
Take my hand, precious Lord, Lead me home. Amen.

Romans 13:3–4

  • For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have its approval.
  • For it is God's servant for your good.
helpful notes on Romans 13:3–4

For yourself pray:

  • That you may peacefully coexist with everyone else in your community

For others pray:

  • That God spreads the good news of the kingdom of the Son he loves in Germany

A psalm to listen to and ponder, as time allows:

  • Psalm 82 (YouTube, duet, "Arise, O God, and judge the earth.")
