daily reading 22.2 (Romans 12:11–13)

5-days-a-week through Romans and the letters Paul wrote from Rome in 2024

Our opening prayer for this week:

    Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
    Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
    Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
    God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

    Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
    Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
    Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
    Who was, and is, and evermore shall be.

    Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
    Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
    Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
    Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

    Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
    All Thy works shall praise Thy Name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
    Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty!
    God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity. Amen.

Romans 12:11–13

  • Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; serve the Lord.
  • 12 Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer. 13 Share with the saints in their needs; pursue hospitality.
helpful notes on Romans 12:11–13

For yourself pray:

  • That you become much more persistent in prayer in Jesus' name

For others pray:

  • That God spreads the good news of the kingdom of the Son he loves in Georgia

A psalm to listen to and ponder, as time allows:

  • Psalm 78 (Vimeo, soloist with piano, "We will tell the next generation ...")
